Kesariya Craze, Kitty Style – A Jodhpuri Affair in South Bopal!
Okay, confession time—I'm not a movie buff. I haven’t watched Kesariya 1, and I’m definitely not lining up for Kesariya 2. But with all the buzz surrounding it, I figured—why not jump on the bandwagon with a twist? So, instead of cinema and samosas, five of us fabulous friends headed to Shri Kesariya Vegetarian Restaurant in South Bopal, Ahmedabad, for our monthly kitty party.
Claiming to serve Rajasthani Jodhpuri flavours, the restaurant tickled our curiosity and tempted our taste buds. With a decade-old friendship and a shared passion for food, we know how to pick our spots—and this one didn’t disappoint.
Starters & Shenanigans:
We kicked off with a crunchy, chatpata spread that had us nodding in approval. The Veg Manchurian gave us that classic Indo-Chinese kick, Masala Khichiya satisfied our craving for something crispy, and the ever-trusty Hara Bhara Kabab added a hearty touch. Washed down with Nimboo Pani and Lemon Soda, the starters were the perfect prelude to our party. Between plates, we dived into our signature kitty games—housie, giggles, and a few rules conveniently forgotten (as always!). Who needs an intermission when your starters are this entertaining?
The Ambience:
Simple, clean, and cosy—just the way we like it. With a seating capacity of around 25-30, the restaurant had a warm vibe, perfect for conversations and chaos alike.
Rating: 3/5
The Main Event – Rajasthani Flavours on a Plate:
Our Jodhpuri-inspired meal included Ker Sangari, Rabori Pyaz, and the rather intriguing Gulab Jamun ki Sabzi. (Yes, you read that right. It’s not a dessert; it’s a dish. Jury’s still out though!) We paired these with Koba Roti and Lachcha Parantha, and washed them down with a glass of cold Makka Karba—an earthy, refreshing drink that grew on us with every sip.
Rating: 4/5
Service with a Smile:
The staff was warm, well-trained, and handled our endless questions (and laughter) with quiet grace. No mix-ups, quick service, and always around when needed—just what you need to keep the kitty running smoothly.
Rating: 4.5/5
A Sweet Ending :
The only in-house dessert option was Gulab Jamun, which didn’t quite hit the kulfi-craving spot. So, like seasoned sweet seekers, we marched to our trusted kulfi place nearby and ended on a cool, creamy note with Asharfi Malai Kulfi. Because every good story (and kitty) deserves a sweet ending.
Final Verdict:
This Kesariya may not star Akshay Kumar, but it served up enough drama, delight, and deliciousness to earn a standing ovation from our kitty club. If you're looking for a place that blends Rajasthani flavours with relaxed vibes, give Shri Kesariya a shot.
